OneSkin

I am a wannabe bio-hacker and listen to a number of related podcasts in this arena. There was an interview I came across with a female founder of a skincare brand called Oneskin and I was really impressed with the story, the mission and the science backed research of this company. I especially love that it was founded by four female scientists and it checks off all the boxes of being clean, vegan and cruelty free. Trust is such an issue with skincare claims and I really believe in this brand. I use the OS-1 Face and OS-1 Eye and love the lightweight texture, the fragrance free aspect - and of course, what it does for my skin.

LIVING LIBATIONS

I have a forever obsession with Living Libations multi-purpose oil Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn. It can be used as a face wash and moisturizer. It keeps my sensitive skin calm and soft, it smells like a spa day, and it soaks in completely without leaving any oily residue. Plus this company is serious about their eco cred. Their products are all cruelty-free, non-GMO, reef-safe, organic and wild-crafted. Unlike so many other brands, their prices are remarkably reasonable so it feels less like a splurge and more like a must-have.

Biossance

I'm very picky when it comes to what I put on my face due to my eczema and skin sensitivity. I have a severe allergy to coconut and it can be hard to find clean products without this ingredient. Three years ago, I was introduced to Biossance a clean and planet positive brand with products formulated without certain ingredients that are potentially harmful to the environment and human health. I've been particularly obsessed with the Biossance Squalene + 10% Lactic Acid Resurfacing Serum as it renews, rejuvenates and hydrates my skin all while I'm fast asleep. I wake up the next morning with soft, glowing and baby-like skin. This brand has been and will continue to be a part of my daily night ritual!

I've been using Green Beaver's Sensitive Aloe Make-up Remover for at least 10 years. It's a ride or die in my night-time routine. It takes make-up off easily without irritating or drying out my eyes. I also love their body lotion, lip chap and sunscreen. All of their products are made locally in Ontario & are vegan, bio-degradable, gluten free, fluoride free, cruelty free, GMO free, and organic!

Evan Healy is a holistic skincare line that I’ve been supporting for many years. They use a ‘from soil to bottle’ approach. They use natural plant oils and earthen clays sourced from the wild - directly from small family farms and women’s co-operatives. The Rose Geranium HydroSoul Spray is a staple in my skincare routine. It plumps, hydrates and calms my sensitive & acne-prone skin. It feels luxurious and smells heavenly! All their products are certified organic, non-GMO, no parabens / sulfates / silicon, and not tested on animals.

Glow Recipe

For my skin, I've recently become obsessed with the Glow Recipe brand! Specifically their Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer. I've gone from oily skin to combination oily and dry and this moisturizer has my skin feeling extra hydrated without residue! I can feel confident that I'm using a sustainable, clean (free harsh chemicals) product on my skin as well as supporting a brand that gives back to the environment. Aside from their insanely cute packaging and clean formulations, I fell for this brand because it is all about empowering the customer. They stay away from words like "perfect," "flawless," "ageless," and "poreless," and offer more realistic expectations for us all to achieve.
